house, temple or garden
we keep evil at bay
Dog of Fu
Dog of Buddha
Right foot perched
on the ball of the world
mouth opened chanting “OM”
as we guard this place
of tranquility
with a pearl in mouth
mindful of prosperity
She is Yin
protector of people
He is Yang
protector of structure
Celestial Dog
Happiness Dog
Dog that is Lion
Lion that is Dog
Enter all –
carry with you
only good will.
